Guidelines For Meeting In Person

Safety: Sibs is not responsible for the actions of its users or your interactions with them, and we don’t conduct background checks. Be careful and be sure to read and follow our Guidelines for Staying Safe on interacting with people on or off the platform.

Staying Safe

  1. Meet in Public and Stay in Public
Be sure to meet at a populated, public place — never at your home, another trader’s home, or any other private location. If a trader pressures you to facilitate the exchange at a private location, contact us at help@sibs-app.com

  2. Tell a Friend or Family Member About Your Plans
Tell someone you trust about your plans to be up with a fellow trader to exchange your items, including when and where you’re going. Consider bringing someone along on a swap-- users under 18 should never conduct an in-person trade without adult accompaniment. Have your cell phone charged and with you at all times.

  3. Trust Yourself!
Possibly the most important precaution is that there's no substitute for your intuition. If something seems too good to be true, or just doesn't feel right, listen to that little voice or uneasy feeling. Don't be embarrassed to withdraw a trade that sets off red flags.
